Bruce focuses his practice predominately in the area of medical malpractice litigation, including cases involving medical products.  He has averaged six medical malpractice jury trials per year.  Bruce has tried cases in virtually every part of Texas.  However, in the last ten years, he has focused primarily on the central and south Texas area.  He has tried a number of dangerous medical malpractice cases in Laredo, winning almost all of them. He also tried a significant number of cases in San Antonio. Two years ago, he had the unique experience of receiving two unanimous defense verdicts in the same week.

Additionally, Bruce has served as an adjunct Professor of Law at St. Mary’s University School of Law since 2003, teaching the nuances of medical malpractice litigation.

Bruce earned his J.D. from the University of Missouri, Columbia School of Law in 1975, where he served on the school’s Law Review and was awarded several honors, including the American Jurisprudence Prize in Constitutional Law, the Judge Roy W. Harper Prize for Best Work in Federal Courts and the Russell Castile Scholarship for 1974-75.
He served as a law clerk at the Missouri Court of Appeals from 1975-76.
Prior to law school Bruce earned his B.A. in Political Science at the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1970.  He also spent two years between undergraduate and law school serving as an Operations Officer for the United States Navy.

Bruce is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Bexar County Bar Association and the San Antonio Bar Association.

Bruce is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) and has achieved the rank of Advocate.
